About Oscar
Meet Oscar — a big, sweet-hearted basset hound with a personality as lovable as his size! Mostly white with apricot spots, Oscar is a gentle soul who adores belly rubs. He loves snoozing on the couch or outside his foster mom’s office.
Oscar is crate trained, takes treats with the utmost gentleness, and is housebroken. As with any new adoption, expect a short adjustment period during which a few accidents might happen. While we don’t know much about his past, Oscar can be shy and will cower with sudden movements, but he bounces back quickly with a bit of reassurance.
This laid-back boy loves sunbathing in the backyard, playing with his toys, and announcing his excitement with a deep “aroo.” Due to his size and love for food, we don’t recommend free feeding — he’s not shy about helping himself to a neighbor’s bowl if given the chance!
Oscar arrived at BBHR with two basset companions, Betsy and Daisy, and has already earned the nickname “Moose” — a nod to his stature and sweet, gentle nature. Oscar might be your perfect match if you are looking for that BIG basset hound!
