Meet Jake – a Spunky Senior with a Heart of Gold!

Jake is a lively and lovable 12-year-old neutered male Basset Hound with plenty of pep in his step. He’s up to date on all his vaccines and is current on heartworm and flea prevention. Through no fault of his own—or his previous family’s—Jake is now searching for a new forever home.

This charming gentleman will greet you at the door with a cheerful bark and a tail-wagging tale of his day. He’s fully house-trained, trustworthy when left loose in the house, and gets along wonderfully with people, other dogs, and even cats. Jake is a great car companion—he may let out a little whine at first, but he settles in nicely.

Although he hasn’t started his walks yet (he just got his vaccines updated), he’s eager to explore. He enjoys being brushed and pampered—looking sharp is important to a hound of his stature!

Jake has a minor cherry eye that doesn’t bother him, and a dental cleaning down the line would be beneficial. He’s finishing up a round of antibiotics and will be ready to move into his fur-ever home very soon.

Don’t let his age fool you—Jake is full of life, personality, and love. He’s a calm yet spirited companion who just might claim your sofa or bed as his favorite hangout spot. He’s silly like that!
